A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful who recite the Te Deum in thanksgiving and a plenary indulgence is granted if the hymn is recited publicly on the last day of the year. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

By a plenary indulgence is meant the remission of the entire temporal punishment due to sin so that no further expiation is required in Purgatory.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We praise you, O God:<\/strong>
\nwe acclaim you as the Lord.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everlasting Father,<\/strong>
\nall the world bows down before You.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All the angels sing your praise,<\/strong>
\nthe hosts of heaven and all the angelic powers,<\/strong><\/p>\n

all the cherubim and seraphim<\/strong>
\ncall out to you in unending song:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holy, Holy, Holy,<\/strong>
\nis the Lord God of angel hosts!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The heavens and the earth are filled<\/strong>
\nwith your majesty and glory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The glorious band of apostles,<\/strong>
\nthe noble company of\u00a0prophets,<\/strong><\/p>\n

the white-robed army who shed their blood for Chirst,<\/strong>
\nall sing your praise.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And to the ends of the earth<\/strong>
\nyour holy Church proclaims her faith in you:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Father whose majesty is boundless,<\/strong>
\nyour true and only Son, who is to be adored,<\/strong>
\nthe Holy Spirit sent to be our Advocate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You, Christ, are the king of glory,<\/strong>
\nSon of the eternal father.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you took our nature to save mankind<\/strong>
\nyou did not shrink from birth in the Virgin’s womb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You overcame the power of death<\/strong>
\nopening the Father’s kingdom to all who believe in you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enthroned at God’s right hand in the glory of the Father,<\/strong>
\nyou will come in judgment according to your promise.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You redeemed your people by your precious blood.<\/strong>
\nCome, we implore you, to our aid.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grant us with the saints<\/strong>
\na place in eternal glory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lord, save your people<\/strong>
\nand bless your inheritance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rule them and uphold them<\/strong>
\nfor ever and ever.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Day by day we praise you:<\/strong>
\nwe acclaim you now and to all eternity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In your goodness, Lord, keep us free from sin.<\/strong>
