\nThis Blessing may be made by a Catholic Priest:<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

Verse.\u00a0 Our help is in the name of the Lord.<\/p>\n

Response.\u00a0 Who hath made heaven and earth.<\/b><\/p>\n

All say the antiphon:<\/i><\/p>\n

Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for He is come.<\/b><\/p>\n

PSALM 95<\/p>\n

Sing unto the Lord a new song; * Sing unto the Lord, all the earth.<\/p>\n

Sing unto the Lord, bless His name, * Proclaim His salvation from day to day.<\/p>\n

Declare His glory among the Gentiles, * His marvelous works among all the peoples.<\/p>\n

For great is the Lord, and highly to be praised; * He is to be feared above all gods.<\/p>\n

For all the gods of the peoples are idols, * But the Lord made the heavens.<\/p>\n

Honor and majesty are before Him: * Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.<\/p>\n

Give to the Lord, ye kindreds of the peoples, * Give to the Lord glory and strength.\u00a0 * Give to the Lord the glory due unto His name.<\/p>\n

Offer sacrifice, and come into His courts. * O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.<\/p>\n

Tremble before Him, all the earth. * Say among the heathen: \u2018The Lord Reigneth.\u2019<\/p>\n

The world also is established that it cannot be moved; * He will judge the peoples with equity.<\/p>\n

Let the heavens be glad and let the earth rejoice; * Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof; * Let the field exult, and all that is therein.<\/p>\n

Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy; *<\/p>\n

Before the Lord, for He is come; * For He is come to judge the earth.<\/p>\n

He will judge the world with righteousness, * And the peoples in His truth.<\/p>\n

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.<\/p>\n

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be; * world without end.\u00a0\u00a0Amen<\/b><\/p>\n

The antiphon is repeated:<\/i><\/p>\n

Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for He is come.<\/p>\n

A member of the family reads the following Lesson from the Prophet Ezechiel\u00a0<\/i>(xvii, 22-24):<\/p>\n

Thus saith the Lord God:\u00a0 I Myself will take the top of the high cedar, and will set it:\u00a0 I will crop off a tender twig from the top of the branches thereof,<\/p>\n

and I will plant it on a mountain high and eminent.\u00a0 On the high mountains of Israel will I plant it, and it shall shoot forth into branches, and shall bear fruit,<\/p>\n

and it shall become a great cedar; and all birds shall dwell under it, and every fowl shall make its nest under the shadow of the branches thereof.<\/p>\n

And all the trees of the country shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high tree, and exalted the low tree; and have dried up the green tree,<\/p>\n

and have caused the dry tree to flourish.\u00a0 I the Lord have spoken and have done it.<\/p>\n

R.\u00a0 Thanks be to God.<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 And there shall come forth a shoot.<\/b><\/p>\n

R.\u00a0 Out of the root of Jesse.<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 In Him was life.<\/b><\/p>\n

R.\u00a0 And the life was the light of men.<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 O Lord hear my prayer<\/b>.<\/p>\n

R.\u00a0 And let my cry come unto Thee.<\/p>\n

V.\u00a0 The Lord be with you.<\/b><\/p>\n

R.\u00a0 And with thy spirit.<\/p>\n

Let us pray:<\/b><\/p>\n

Holy Lord, Father Almighty, Eternal God, who hast caused Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to be planted like a tree of life<\/p>\n

in Thy Church by being born of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, bless, we beseech Thee, this tree that all who see it may be filled<\/p>\n

with a holy desire to be ingrafted as living branches into the same Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with Thee,<\/p>\n

in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.<\/p>\n
