Hours of the Passion

In the Heading under “Work Sheet for Hours of the Passion” you will find the excel works sheet for setting up a group to pray the Hours of the Passion as written by Saint Annibale Maria di Francia in the preface to the House of the Passion:

“If because of one soul alone doing these Hours, Jesus would spare a city chastisements, and would give grace to as many souls for as many as are the words of these sorrowful Hours, how many graces could a Community [or any group of faithful] hope for; from how many defects and relaxations would it be healed or preserved; and for how many souls would it obtain sanctification and salvation by practicing this pious exercise!

If only there were one soul in each Community, who would apply herself to practicing it with more attention during the day, at times even in the midst of daily occupations, and also in the evening, and at nighttime with a little bit of vigil…!  But it would be the summit of the divine, and the maximum profit for that Community and for the whole world, if this exercise were practiced by all, in turns – day and night!” Saint Hannibale Maria Di Frnacia

One method is that of meditating one Hour each day by reading it alone, or with one’s family, or with others.  In this way, in the round of 24 days, one would complete the 24 Hours.  A good clock never stops – life never stops…

A second method would be that of forming groups of various people – 4, 8, 12 or possibly 24 and more – each one committed seriously to doing one of the Hours, assigned for a period of time, before changing the Hour.  A good clock marks all the hours – it skips none of them…

A third method, then, is that of doing at least one hour per day, at the time of the day which coincides to that hour, but in any case, to reach such familiarity with the Hours of the Passion, and to assimilate them in such a way, as to be able to follow their content mentally during the whole day.  For this purpose it is very helpful to learn by heart the succession of the 24 Hours with the corresponding title, which is reported on the next page.

To “do” an Hour of the Passion means to read it attentively, meditating on it, contemplating it, making it one’s own life… It is not just remembering and compassionating the sufferings of Jesus as something that happened many centuries ago in a far away place; but rather, it is, first of all, to enter into the Divine Will, in which everything is present and in act, and to participate in the interior acts and sufferings of Our Lord, which are present and in act at this precise moment, so as to repeat His life within us, to grow in His likeness, and to pour upon everyone the infinite value, merits and effects of His Passion.

Jesus Himself explains this very important difference:  “To repeat my Passion in act in the creature, is different from one who only thinks of my pains and compassionates them.  The first is an act of my Life, which takes my place in order to repeat my pains, and I feel I am given back the effects and the value of a Divine Life; while in thinking of my pains and in compassionating Me, it is only the company of the creature that I feel.  But do you know in whom I can repeat my pains, in act, of my Passion?  In one who has my Will as center of life.  (October 24, 1925  Vol. 18)

One can comprehend, then, how the Hours of the Passion are not just a reading, and not even a devotion, but a formation of life:  the interior life of Jesus.  In this way, day after day, we will feel more and more that Jesus is truly living in us – not just our life, but His very Divine Life.

Promises of our Merciful Savior to Sr. Claire Ferchaud

Jesus said that; “His Heart was broken and slashed by the sins of mankind. But
He had an even deeper wound, that people do not believe in God.”

France.
I come, not to bring terror among you; I am the God of love, the God who
forgives and wants to save you all.”
“My grace will work with great power on sinners who, without contrition, kneel
before the picture of My Broken Heart, so that they will arise converted.”
“I will forgive their sins, even before the absolution, to those who with a true
love kiss the picture of My Broken Heart.”
“My glance will touch the hearts of the indifferent and will inflame them with
fervor so that they will practice goodness.”
“A single act of love, with the plea for forgiveness towards this picture, will be
enough for Me to open heaven to the soul which, in the last hour, must appear
before Me.”
“When some refuse to believe in the truths of the (Catholic) religion, one can put
the picture of My Broken Heart in their room (dwelling) without their knowledge.
It will bring, through the wonder of graces, sudden and supernatural conversions.”
This is what is said to have transpired when Jesus appeared to Claire. “He bared
his sacred heart, and told her that God was on the side of France, and would lead
the country to victory – so long as the country confessed its sins and
rediscovered its true faith. Jesus pointed towards the wound on his heart, and
explained “This signifies the official atheism of France.” Since the revolution, the
French had denied their faith and substituted secular laws for the Gospel.”

Bible Prophecy, The New Testament And The Oldest Church Records Reveal The Catholic Eucharist Will Eventually Convert All Protestants To Catholicism

by Walid Shoebat on January 25, 2016

Get ready for a treat to see how the whole of scripture is prophetic as every time I read the scriptures after I  consumed the Eucharist, I find amazing predictions showing how God even embedded Himself in the Eucharist. How all this unfolds from the Bread of Life to our Daily Bread demands the patience of Job and the study of someone who desires to run marathons. But before I explain the Eucharist, I would like to start with what is trying to end our Daily Bread: locusts.

In Joel 2:25 God speaks of the invasions of locusts. While we have always applied this in regards of Israel’s desolation for rejecting the Messiah, and her restoration, then redemption, while this is true, many miss what applies also from the other sense for the Church.

Prophecy has a dual function, always, an earthly and heavenly. Joel predicts the day of the Lord as: “Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!” (Joel 2:15)

While most are consumed with the earthly Mount Zion, they forget; the Heavenly Mount Zion where the saints reside “in My Holy Mountain” and not “on My Holy Mountain”, with the saints, the angels and with Christ, and from their the angels will sound the Trumpet of God: “Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!” (Joel 2:2).

This is the place which in Hebrews speaks of heavenly Mount Zion which is the goal of the Christian to come to God through his continual access and a lifetime supplication to connect to the Heavenly Mount Zion:

“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” (Hebrews 12:22-24)

This is the whole goal and process of salvation, that is, to transform us striving to become “the righteous” who are “made perfect”. This is the communion between the Church Militant on earth and the Church Triumphant in heavenly Mount Zion, where the saints, angels and The Trinity reside.

This is the strive of the Christian.

As it is in Heaven so may it be on Earth

Medjugorje Message today (1/25/16)

“Dear children! Also today I am calling all of you to prayer. You cannot live without prayer, because prayer is a chain which brings you closer to God. Therefore, little children, in humility of heart return to God and to His commandments so that with all of your heart you are able to say: as it is in Heaven so may it be on earth. You, little children, are free to in freedom decide for God or against Him. See where satan wants to pull you into sin and slavery. Therefore, little children, return to my heart so that I can lead you to my Son Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

25th anniversary of Episcopal ordination Mons Giovan Battista Pichierri – To testify to the gospel of God’s grace

Archbishop Pichierri 2016

Posted 1/23/16 on the Official Website for the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta

Dear friends,

January 26, our Archbishop Giovan Battista Pichierri will celebrates the 25th anniversary of his Episcopal ordination.

The Association “Luisa Piccarreta –  Little Children of the Divine Will”, on the occasion of this anniversary, wants to express with all of you, dear friends, who follow us on this website, best wishes to His Excellency, thanking him for his Episcopal ministry bestowed upon the Diocese of Trani-Barletta- Bisceglie, Titular of Nazareth, especially for his dedication during these years to the cause of Beatification of Luisa.

The Association sees in Mons. Pichierri its own father in faith who accompanies and stimulates it continuously, so that, first of all, it can live and testify of the gift of living in the Divine Will.

His numerous visits to the Association and his ongoing commitment to promote the cause of  beatification and canonization are a sign of his bond with the figure of Luisa, daughter of this land of Puglia who the Lord has chosen as a humble instrument to make known the Gift of Living in the Divine Will throughout the world.

Let us not forget that it was Mons. Pichierri who on October 29, 2005, in the presence of thousands of people from around the world, closed the diocesan inquiry into the life, virtue and reputation of Sanctity of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta.

Mons. Giovan Battista Pichierri was born in Sava  (province of Taranto) on February 12, 1943.

After concluding his studies at the diocesan seminary and then at the regional seminary in Molfetta, he was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Oria (Brindisi province) on August 30, 1967.

He completed his theological education by attending the Ecumenical Faculty of Bari, where in 1970 he obtained his license in Ecumenical Theology.

He put the first ten years of his priestly ministry at the service of the regional and diocesan minor seminaries for the High School in Taranto.

Here, he served at first as educator and then as rector.

After returning to the diocese in 1977, he served the diocesan Church working directly with Bishops De Giorgi (now Cardinal and Archbishop Emeritus of Palermo) and Franco and in the range of the sequence between them as “Delegate ad omnia” of Apostolic Administrator Voto, Bishop of Castellaneta.

Since 1982, he was appointed Archpriest by Mons. Armando Franco, and was entrusted with the pastoral care of the parish of SS. Trinity in Manduria, where he carried out his service until March12 1991.

In 1986,  Mons. Franco himself called him to collaborate more directly in the guide of diocese entrusting him with the role of Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, in addition to that of pastor.

Throughout the years of his ministry he taught Catholic religion in public primary and lower secondary school, in the Lyceum and commercial and technical institutes.

On December 21, 1990 the Holy Father John Paul II  appointed him Bishop of the diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano (Foggia Province).

On January 26,  1991 he was ordained Bishop in the Cathedral Church of Manduria by the Bishop of the diocese, Mons. Armando Franco.

On  March 17, 1991 he entered the diocese.

On November 13, 1999 the Holy Father John Paul II transferred him to the Archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie.

He was installed in it on Jan. 26, 2000, on the ninth anniversary of this Episcopal ordination.

We are grateful to the Lord because the ministry of our Archbishop has been “to testify to the gospel of God’s grace”, as the Acts of the Apostles – Chapter 20, 24 – remind us. Just as his predecessors did consistently with Luisa at first and then with the Association, he has kept the seal of the ecclesial spirit on this small seed destined to bear the fruit of the Kingdom.
