Pope Francis crowns the Most Holy Virgin of Guadalupe

Blessed are you, O Lord,
God of heaven and earth,
who, in your mercy and justice,
cast down the proud,
and exalt the humble.

In the wondrous designs of your providence,
you have offered a perfect model
in the Incarnate Word and in the Virgin Mother:
Your Son, who voluntarily humbled Himself,
even to death on the Cross,
shines in eternal glory
and sits at your right hand
as King of kings and Lord of lords.

And the Virgin, who desired to call herself your handmaid,
who was chosen as Mother of the Redeemer
and true Mother of the living,
and now, lifted up above the choirs of angels,
gloriously reigns beside her Son,
interceding for all men,
the advocate of grace
and queen of mercy.

Look with kindness, O Lord, on these your servants
who, in placing a royal diadem
upon the image of the Mother of your Son,
recognize in your Son the King of the universe,
and invoke, as Queen, the Virgin.

Grant that,
in following their example,
we too might consecrate ourselves to your service,
and make ourselves available to others,
fulfilling the law of charity,
thus triumphing over selfishness,
and in generously giving
we might lead our brothers and sisters to you.

Grant that,
seeking humility on earth,
we might one day be lifted to the heights of heaven,
where you yourself will place
on the heads of your faithful
the crown of life.

Through Christ our Lord,

Amen and FIAT!!!

“Catch us the little foxes that destroy the vines: for our vineyard hath flourished” (Canticle of Canticles 2:15).

Crux Fidelis! (O Faithful Cross!)

Lent is upon us once again.

Below in PDF format is a little instruction on fasting and abstinence.

Keep to the tradition of the Church.

In the mysterious book of the Bible, the Canticle of Canticles, we find the trajectory of how God works with souls. It is seen in the repeated use of verbs having the first person pronoun as the their object or indirect object.

Thus,

“Let him kiss me with the kiss of his mouth …”

“Draw me: we will run after thee to the odour of thy ointments” (1:3).

“Show me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest…” (1:6).

Kiss Me, Draw Me, Show Me

bring me into the wine cellar and put charity in order in me (cf. 2:4).

“Stay me up with flowers, compass me about with apples: because I languish with love” (2:5).

“His left hand is under my head, and his right hand shall embrace me” (2:6),

Behold my beloved speaketh to me:

Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful one, and come” (2:10),

“show me thy face, let thy voice sound in my ears:

for thy voice is sweet, and thy face comely” (2:14).

Embrace me, speak to me, show me thy Face…

“Catch us the little foxes that destroy the vines: for our vineyard hath flourished” (2:15).

Catch us… catch in me… the little foxes that block this loving union!

Here is the purpose of Lent summarized!

We are offered a deeper union with His Majesty…

but only if we go out in the desert and catch the little foxes inside our souls that diminish and destroy our virtues… and prevent divine union.

“The observance of Lent is the very badge of the Christian warfare. By it we prove ourselves not to be enemies of Christ. By it we avert the scourges of divine justice. By it we gain strength against the princes of darkness, for it shields us with heavenly help. Should mankind grow remiss in their observance of Lent, it would be a detriment to God’s glory, a disgrace to the Catholic religion, and a danger to Christian souls. Neither can it be doubted that such negligence would become the source of misery to the world, of public calamity, and of private woe.”—Pope “Catch us the little foxes that destroy the vines: for our vineyard hath flourished” (2:15). The Call of the Creature to the Order, the Place and the Purpose
for which He was Created by God
Volume 3; February 21, 1900

Purity is obtained through mortification, and mortification renders the soul worthy of sympathy.

The Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta the Little Daughter of the Divine Will:

This morning my lovable Jesus began to make His usual delays.  May He be always blessed, for He always starts from the beginning!  Indeed it takes the patience of a saint to bear Him; and one would have to deal with Jesus to see how much patience it takes!  One who has not experienced it, cannot believe it, and it is almost impossible not to have a few huffs with Him.Then, after being patient in waiting and waiting for Him, finally He came and told me:  “My daughter (Luisa), the gift of purity is not a natural gift, but an attained grace; and it is obtained by rendering oneself worthy of sympathy.  The soul becomes so through mortifications and through sufferings.  Oh, how worthy of sympathy becomes the mortified and suffering soul!  Oh, how striking she is!  And I (God) feel such sympathy as to go mad for her, and whatever she (the mortified and suffering soul) wants, I (God) give to her.  When you (Luisa) are deprived of Me (Our Lord God, Jesus Christ), suffer My privation for love of Me (Jesus), which is the most painful suffering for you, and I (Jesus) will feel more sympathy than before, and will grant you (Luisa) new gifts.”

Meditations for the Stations of the Cross
from the
“The Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion”

***

By Meditating the Hours of Passion You Acquire All Virtues
And
You Receive the Grace Of Persevering In the Continuous Flight In the Divine Will

From The Writings Of Luisa Piccarreta
“The Little Daughter Of The Divine Will”

In the passage below, Jesus says that patience is the key that opens the door in order to receive all of the virtues.

Volume 4 – January 31, 1901

Jesus explains the greatness of the virtue of patience.

As I was in my usual state, my sweet Jesus was not coming. Then, after much waiting, I saw Him for just a little, and He told me: “My daughter, patience is superior to purity, because without patience the soul easily unbridles, and it is difficult for her to remain pure; and when a virtue needs another virtue in order to have life, the second one is called superior to the first. Even more, it can be said that patience is custody of purity; not only this, but it is staircase to ascend to the mountain of fortitude, in such a way that if one went up without the staircase of patience, he would immediately fall from the highest point to the lowest. In addition to this, patience is seed of perseverance, and this seed produces branches called firmness. Oh, how firm and stable in the good she has started is the patient soul! She pays no attention either to rain, or to frost, or to ice, or to fire, but all her attention is on bringing to completion the good she has started. In fact, there is no greater foolishness than that of one who today does some good because he likes it, and tomorrow he neglects it because he finds no more pleasure in it. What would one say of an eye which at one hour possesses sight, and at another is blind? Or of a tongue which now speaks, and now is mute? Ah! yes, my daughter, patience alone is the secret key to open the treasure of virtues; without the secret of this key, the other virtues do not come out to give life to the soul and to ennoble her.”

Jesus says in the passage below that when you meditate on “The Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion” you receive the virtue of patience.  Therefore by meditating on the Hours of the Passion, you come to acquire all of the virtues.

Jesus also states in the above passage from Volume 4 that patience is seed of perseverance. Therefore, by meditating on the Hours of the Passion you receive the virtue of patience which in turn gives you perseverance in maintaining a continuous flight in the Divine Will.

VOL. 11 – February 2, 1917

The world has become unbalanced because it has lost the thought of the Passion.

As I was in my usual state, I found myself outside of myself, and I found my always lovable Jesus, dripping Blood all over, with a horrible crown of thorns, looking at me with difficulty through the thorns. He told me: “My daughter, the world has become unbalanced because it has lost the thought of my Passion. In darkness, it has not found the light of my Passion which would illuminate it by making known to it my love and how much souls cost Me, in such a way that it could turn to loving the One who has truly loved it; and the light of my Passion, guiding it, would put it on its guard against all dangers. In weakness, it has not found the strength of my Passion which would sustain it. In impatience, it has not found the mirror of my patience which would infuse in it calm and resignation, in such a way that, in the face of my patience, feeling ashamed, it would make it its duty to dominate itself. In pains, it has not found the comfort of the pains of a God which, sustaining its pains, would infuse in it love of suffering. In sin, it has not found my sanctity which, placing itself in front of it, would infuse in it hate of sin. Ah, man has made an abuse of everything, because he has moved away from the One who could help him! This is why the world has lost balance. It behaved like a child who no longer wanted to recognize his mother; or like a disciple who, denying his master, no longer wanted to listen to his teachings, or learn his lessons. What will happen to this child and to this disciple? They will be the sorrow of themselves, and the terror and sorrow of society. Such has man become – terror and sorrow; but a sorrow without pity. Ah, man is getting worse and worse, and I cry over him with tears of blood!”

Family reconciliation: It is attributed to Luisa “The Holy”.

From the Official website of the Little Daughter of the Divine Will on 2/2/2016

In a time when families are struggling to stay together, the testimony which follows is a message of hope.
From the beginning of his pontificate Pope Francis has emphasised the theme of mercy and underlined the importance of the family, which he calls the first and most important school of mercy.
The story received at our Association a few months ago, offers us a concrete example of the theme that is very dear to our Pope
Who testifies this “special healing” is the mother of one of the protagonists. With faith she attribute it to the intercession of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta and we faithfully report it with the hope that this year becomes the special year of family reunification.
«My son, R. and his wife were separated in 2012, after a very intense argument which resulted in his wife, J. calling the police, resulting in R. being charged with assault and preventing an emergency call. With the authorities involved, the entire incident escalated, resulting in the separation. From that point, their married life was in jeopardy and I had no contact with his wife J. an d my two grand children. The only contact with J. was to se e her in court, which only stirred up a great deal of pain.
Over a period of time, J. filed for a divorce and we knew their family was crumbling and nothing we could say or do would make a difference in saving this marriage. Throughout this separation, R. only saw his children and wife once a week for an hour. These visitations went on for months. During this time, J.’s family was pressuring her to go on with the divorce.
In the state we live in, married couples must be separated for one year, and as the months passed on, there was no hope for a reconciliation.
My husband and I decided to attend the National Divine Will Conference in 2013. On that day, after the conference concluded, I decided to go to confession. I confessed my sins and then asked the father if I could beg Luisa to intercede to save my son’s marriage. He said “Of course.” From that day forward, my husband and I made a commitment to pray the “Hours of the Passion and to also pray the “Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will” daily. I started off my daily prayer begging Luisa to help to reconcile R. and J.’s marriage. I would sincerely petition Luisa by reciting the prayer to implore the Beatification of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta prayer numbers one, two and three. I poured my heart out to her. I believe she heard my every plea.
On 14 September 2013, on the feast of the Exultation of the Cross, I went to confession with another priest. I explained to him in confession that my son, R.t had been arrested again and we would not see him for two years because of a restraining order that had been placed on him at the request of his wife, J. I explained to the priest that all these accusations J. accused R. of were exaggerated. He asked me to notify J. that he would like to talk to her. I left confession thinking it would be very unlikely that J. would agree to meet with the priest.
I picked up the phone and called J. to see if she would agree to meet with the priest so that he could pray over her to provide healing far the affects of being married to an alcoholic, which R. was. Up until this point, J. was completely committed to going through with the divorce. She would not consider nor even talk about the possibility of a reconciliation.
J. met with the priest for three hours, primarily listening to his advice. After their meeting, R. was contacted by J. saying that she desired to reconcile. She contacted her lawyer and had all charges against R. dropped and immediately stopped the divorce process. Additionally, R. has not had any alcohol since their reconciliation. J. also conceived their third child within two months or so of their reconciliation.
I believe with all my heart that it was Luisa who interceded for J. and R. through the priest».
Sincerely,
K.
