Volume 4 – October 31, 1900

The Celestial Mother helps Luisa to disarm Justice. The most salutary and efficacious medicine in the saddest encounters of life is resignation.

The Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta the Little Daughter of the Divine Will:

As I was in my usual state, I felt myself outside of myself and I found the Queen Mama. As She saw me, She began to speak about Justice, and how It is about to clash with all Its fury against the people. She said many things about this, but I don’t have the words to express them. In the meantime I could see the whole of Heaven filled with points of swords against the world. Then She added: “My daughter, you (Luisa) have disarmed Divine Justice many timescontenting yourself with receiving Its blows upon yourself. Now that you see It at the summit of Its fury, do not lose heart, but be courageous; with heart full of holy fortitude, enter into this Justice and disarm It. Do not be afraid of the swords, of the fire, or of anything you may encounter; in order to obtain the intent, if you see yourself wounded, beaten, burned, rejected, do not draw back, but rather, let this be a spur for you to move on. See, so that you (Luisa)  may do this, I (Blessed Mother) Myself have come to your help by bringing you (Luisa) a garment; as your soul wears it, you will acquire courage and fortitude so as to fear nothing.” Having said this, from within Her mantle She pulled out a garment woven with gold, streaked with various colors, and She clothed my (Luisa’s) soulThen She (Blessed Mother) gave me Her Son (Jesus), telling me (Luisa): “And now, as a pledge of My love, I (Blessed Mother) place My dearest Son (Jesus) in your custody, that you (Luisa) may keep Him, love Him and content Him in everything. Try to act in My (Blessed Mother) stead, so that, as He (Jesus) finds all His contentment in you (Luisa), the discontent that all the others give Him may not cause Him too much pain.”

Who can say how happy and strengthened I was, clothed with that garment and with the loving pledge in my arms? Greater happiness I could certainly not desire. Then the Queen Mama disappeared, and I remained with my sweet Jesus. We went round the earth a little bit, and among the many encounters, we (Jesus and Luisa) met a soul who was prey to despair. Having compassion for her, we drew near her, and Jesus wanted me to speak to her, to make her comprehend the evil she was doing. Through a light which Jesus Himself infused in me (Luisa), I said to her: ‘The most salutary and efficacious medicine in the saddest encounters of life is resignation. By despairing, instead of taking the medicine, you are taking the poison with which to kill your soul. Don’t you know that the most appropriate remedy for all evils, the main thing that renders us noble, Divinizes us, makes us similar to Our Lord, and has the virtue of converting the very bitternesses into sweetness, is resignation? What was the life of Jesus upon earth if not continuing the Will of the Father? And while He was on earth, He was united with the Father in Heaven. The same for a resigned soul: while living on earth, her heart and will are united with God in Heaven. Can there be anything more dear and desirable than this?’ As though stirred, that soul began to calm herself, and Jesus and I, together, withdrew. May everything be for the glory of God, and may He be always blessed.

10/30 Letter #48 from the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta to Fr. Michele Samarelli, from Bari

J.M.J.

May the Holy Will of God be our continuous kiss, and transform us completely into Jesus.

Most reverend Father and Theologian,

May good Jesus bind us in His Will so much as to no longer let us remember our own.  Oh, how happy we would be.  We would feel the divine seal in all our works; we would feel the breath of Jesus, the very power and love of Jesus, in our voice; and then, yes, we are able to say to Jesus:  “I love You; I really do, because in Your Will I have also Your Love in my power.  Therefore, not in my love do I love you, but in Your Love, the only One worthy of You.”  Jesus will not let Himself be won in Love by His creature.  He will Love us very much, so much as to confuse us with love.  In every beat of our heart, in every breath and thought, we will receive one “I Love you” of sweet Jesus; so many of these “I Love you’s” will come to us that we won’t be able to count them all.

Here is the answer.  It seems that Jesus says to you:  “Do you want Me to Love you much, very much, too much?  Do you want Me to pour into you the immense oceans of My Love, to reach the point of becoming mad for Love of you?  Live always in My Will, forget yourself, let Me lLve in you, and My Love for you will reach  the non plus ultra (the highest point).  The more you do My Will, the more I will Love you, because My Will deserves all My Love; therefore I will put also My Love at your disposal.”

Oh, how good is Jesus!  If we knew Him, we would die enraptured with Love.  And the Enrapturer Jesus with Love hides us in Love, so as not to make us die… The only doubt that Jesus does not Love us very much saddens Jesus and embitters Him.  Love calls for more Love.  The more we believe He Loves us, the more we feel like Loving Him; and Jesus, seeing Himself loved, loves us more…

10/29 Feast of Christ the King celebrated in the Traditional Latin Mass calendar

  • The Cause of Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta began in Trani, Italy by Archbishop +Cassati in 1994 under the Pontificate of Pope Saint John Paul II (click here for more information)

  • Volume 14; October 27, 1922  “…This Knowledge [of Divine Will] shall be a Powerful Magnet in order to Attract the creatures and make them receive the Inheritance of My Divine Will, and so as to make the Generation of the Children of Light Enter the Field – the Children of My Divine Will. Be Attentive, My daughter, Luisa; you shall be My Spokesperson – the Trumpet, to Call them and Gather this Generation, So Favored and Longed for by Me.”

***

Today, this Sunday the Feast of Christ the King is celebrated in the Traditional Latin Mass calendar, : In the Novus Ordo the Feast moved to the very last Sunday in the Time.

So in celebration of Christ the King today at the end of the  Mass the Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is prayed by the Priest and the Congregation.

Here is that prayer and the history on how it came to be and why it is highly recommended to be prayed by everyone:

The Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic prayer composed by Pope Leo XIII. It was included in the 1899 encyclical Annum sacrum issued by Leo XIII as he consecrated the entire world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The consecration was influenced by two letters written to the pope by Sister Mary of the Divine Heart Droste zu Vischering who stated that in visions of Jesus Christ she had been told to request the consecration

On June 10, 1898, her confessor at the Good Shepherd monastery wrote to Pope Leo XIII stating that Sister Mary of the Divine Heart had received a message from Christ, requesting the pope to consecrate the entire world to the Sacred Heart. The pope initially did not believe her and took no action. However, on January 6, 1899, she wrote another letter, asking that in addition to the consecration, the first Fridays of the month be observed in honor of the Sacred Heart. In the letter she also referred to the recent illness of the pope and stated that Christ had assured her that Pope Leo XIII would live until he had performed the consecration to the Sacred Heart. Theologian Laurent Volken states that this had an emotional impact on Leo XIII, despite the theological issues concerning the consecration of non-Christians.[4][5]

Pope Leo XIII commissioned an inquiry on the basis of her revelation and Church tradition. In his 1899 encyclical letter Annum sacrum, Leo XIII decreed that the consecration of the entire human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus should take place on June 11, 1899. In the encyclical Leo referred to the illness about which Sister Mary had written, stating: “There is one further reason that urges us to realize our design: We do not want it to pass by unnoticed. It is personal in nature but just as important: God the author of all Good has saved us by healing us recently from a dangerous disease.”[6]

Pope Leo XIII also composed the Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart and included it in the encyclical. Pope Pius X later decreed that this consecration of the human race performed by Pope Leo XIII be renewed each year.[7]

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Thine altar. We are Thine, and Thine we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Thy most Sacred Heart.

Many indeed have never known Thee; many too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy sacred Heart.

Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee; grant that they may quickly return to Thy Father’s house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.

Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.

Be Thou King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism, and refuse not to draw them into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Thine eyes of mercy towards the children of the race, once Thy chosen people: of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Savior; may it now descend upon them a laver of redemption and of life.

Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: “Praise be to the divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor for ever.” Amen.

10/29 Closing of Diocesan Phase for Beatification of Luisa

Closing of the Diocesan Phase

of the Cause of Beatification and Canonization
of the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta,
under the Pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI
on October 29, 2005

(click here for the closing Homily by Archbishop +Pichierri in 2005)

On October 29, 2005, His Excellency Mons. Giovanni Battista Pichierri, Archbishop of Trani, Barletta-Biceglie and Titulary of Nazareth, in Corato, Italy, having completed the diocesan investigation (“inchiesta diocesana”) of her fame of sanctity with the compilation of testimonies and documents, remitted his definitive judgment on the sanctity of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta to the Holy Father.

In a communiqué of 2008, the Archbishop of Trani, informed “that the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, in waiting to issue a decree on the legal validity of the diocesan investigation, has submitted the writings of the Servant of God for examination, to the two theological Censors, in conformity with the normative canon and the practice in force”.  Communique n. 2 (Prot.n.098/08/c3) regarding the process for Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, Trani, May 30, 2008. Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The work of the theological Censors.

Before 1927, the writings of Luisa (the first 19 volumes and The Hours of the Passion), had already obtained the “Nihil Obstat” from the now Saint Annibale Maria Di Francia (Censor on behalf of the Archdiocese) and the Imprimatur of the then Archbishop Mons. Giuseppe M. Leo. In addition to this previous study, the Congregation for the Saints, conforming to the canonical normative and actual praxis establishes that the writings of a Servant of God should be submitted for examination by at least two theological Censors (whose names would remain secret); this should be completed before formally initiating the process at the level of the Holy See.

As this work on the writings had not taken place within the diocesan process, the Dicasterio ordered the completion of this requisite with the intention to be able to issue the decree on the legal validity of the diocesan investigation and in this manner initiate the Roman process. The theological Censors, named by the Church, must examine the writings and verify that there is nothing in them contrary to faith and tradition, and must also describe in their verdict the personality and the spirituality of the Servant of God.

The Holy Congregation for the Saints assigned this work to two theological Censors, asking their evaluation.

On June 11, 2010  it was announced that the first theologian appointed by the Holy See for the evaluation of the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, had completed his assessment and officially rendered his verdict: POSITIVE.

On July 23, 2010 Sister Assunta Marigliano, President of the Píous Association “Luisa Piccarreta – Little Daughter of the Divine Will” in Corato, Italy, who is also responsible for the promotion of the Cause for Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, unofficially disclosed that the second theologian appointed by the Holy See for the evaluation of the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, had completed his assessment and had officially rendered his verdict: POSITIVE.

10/28 Feast Day of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles (New/Trad)

Saints Simon and Jude

St. Simon (the Zealot, because nothing was too difficult for his Lord) and Saint Jude (Judas Thaddeus, wrote a Catholic Epistle of the New Testament – It is customary with many to pray to St. Jude in seemingly “hopeless” situations) are said to have preached in Egypt and Persia and to have suffered martyrdom for the faith in Mesopotamia.

Volume One
[Luisa] O! my All and Beautiful Jesus, if for the few moments You manifest Yourself in this life You communicate so much Peace, in such a way that one can suffer the most painful martyrdoms, the most humiliating pains with the most perfect tranquility – it seems to me a mixture of Peace and of Sorrow – what will it be like in Paradise?

10/27 The Divine Way of Operating

BOOK OF HEAVEN
Volume 5; October 27, 1903

The Divine Way of Operating is Only Love for the Father and for Men

Luisa:  As I was in my usual State, I saw my Adorable Jesus for just a little, saying to me:  “My daughter, to Accept Mortifications and Sufferings as Penance and as Chastisement is Praiseworthy, it is Good, but it has no connection with the Divine Way of Operating.  In fact, I Did Much, I Suffered Much, but the Way I had in All this was Only Love for the Father and for men.  So, it shows Immediately whether a creature has the Way of Operating and Suffering in a Divine Manner – if It is Love Alone that Pushes her to do it and to Suffer.  If she has other ways, Good as they may be, they are Always the ways of creatures, and therefore she will find in them the merit that a creature can acquire, not the Merit that the Creator can Acquire, because there is no Union of Ways.  But if she has My Way, the Fire of Love will Destroy any disparity and inequality, and will Form One Single Thing between My Work and that of the creature.”

10/26 The Soul Must Let the Life of her Heart be All Love.

BOOK OF HEAVEN
Volume 10; October 23, 1911

Luisa:  This morning my Always Lovable Jesus came, but who can say How Much in Suffering He makes Himself seen!  It seems that He Feels within Himself All the Pains of the creatures, and they are So Many that He looks for Refreshment and Relief.  Now, after keeping Him with me in Silence, telling Him my nonsense of Love as Refreshment, and adding Kisses and Caresses, it seemed He was Relieved; and then He told me:  “My daughter, let the life of your heart be All Love; let nothing else enter into it, because I want to take Food from within your heart, and if I do not find it All Love, it will not be Engoyable Food for Me.  As for the other parts of you, you can give to each one its office – that is, to your mind, to your mouth, to your feet, to All of your senses; to some Adoration, to some Reparation, to some Praise, Thanksgiving and All the Rest.  But from your heart I Want Love Only.”
